Ebook recommendations

January 20th, 2007

I recently got a small memory card for my Sony clie, so I can add some books to my lineup. What’s out there in ebook land that rocks your world, that made you immediately search that author’s website for additional stories or made you fly straight to the internet to tell a friend or two or even a message board full how cool it was?

I’m open for suggestions. Doesn’t have to be a new release either. Nor does it have to be erotic romance (just cuz I write it doesn’t mean it’s what I want to read all the time).

I went to Barnes & Noble last night. I stood in front of the new releases for romance, then did I don’t know how many donuts around the featured 4-sided display, trying to remember what books I’d heard about and really wanted to read. I couldn’t remember anything. I did see a number of books that I’d heard buzz about, I just couldn’t remember if it was “good buzz” or “bad buzz”, so I hesitated. Ended up calling Jaci who probably thought I was nuts.

She kinda knows my reading taste and has had the chance to do more reading recently than I have. Plus she does acutally retain info re: the buzz on books, so she remembered which books were “meh” and which were definitely worth spending my time and money on.

I ended up with Colleen Gleason’s The Rest Falls Away. Partly because Jaci recommended it as something I’d like, and partly because I knew she’d popped into my blog and commented.

Anyone else got a print book recommendation? While I don’t get much time to read, when I do, I like to have books on hand. C’mon, tell me what should be on my TBR!

I’m assuming you’ve already read Shannon’s 72 Hours (if not that’s a must) so I’ll move on…not entirely sure what kind of thing you like but here are some I recommend: Noon by Katherine Warwick, Sorcha’s Heart by Debbie Mumford, Bound by Blood by TC Lotempio, Chella’s Quest by Laura Bacchi. That should get you started and they are all quite different.

I recently discovered Esther Mitchell’s books at Triskelion. She has a couple different series going on, with two titles in print, the rest in ebook. Really like her writing style, the storylines are really interesting, include some humor, and really hot and compelling characters. Once I read one, I went back and got them all. If you are curious, her website has the best book descriptions.

Your book seXTC was awesome!! I highly recommend Lacey Alexander’s French Quarter-it’s Ebook and print. Also, in print,(which you have probably read)- Jaci Burton’s Surviving Demon Island and Strip Search by Shelley Bradley–Great Reads. I am also anxiously awaiting Wild, Wicked, and Wanton by Jaci. Sooo many books, sooo little time.
