Thursday Thirteen #14
Big thanks to my daughter for creation of the TT banner. Hopefully I can In no particular order, my favorite cartoons! 1. Tom and Jerry–I can’t believe, after watching movies like SPAWN last night, that someone would consider Tom and Jerry violent. There was never bloodshed…just frying pan shaped faces. 2. Smurfs — don’t get that song stuck in your head like I did. 3. Garfield — hated the movie, loved the cartoon 4. Peanuts- Snooooooopy!!! and Woodstock, too! 5. Bugs Bunny–especially love those Marvin Martian episodes… 6. Road Runner 7. Captain Caveman—please, please, does anyone else remember the little white bowling pin looking creature that was in some of his cartoons… named Schmoo? 8. Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Okay, yes, it’s a movie, not a show, but this is my all time favorite cartoon movie. 9. Animaniacs — Watched this with the kid when she was little. 10. Pepe Le Pew 11. Woody Woodpecker. C’mon, you can do the laugh! 12. Secret Squirrel 13. Scooby Doo, how could I almost forget you? I still feel like I’m forgetting things… what’d you watch as a kid??? |

When I was younger I always watched the smurfs. When I put it on once for my kids I was all excited but they weren’t impressed.
I guess now my favorite is jimmy neutron.
Happy Thursday Thirteen!

LOL, yes, I remember Captain Caveman and the Schmoo. As a matter of fact, now you’ve got “Captain Cave… maaaaan” echoing through my head. Thanks a lot.
You did leave off one of my favorites: Rocky & Bullwinkle. Get moose and squirrel. Fun stuff.

In college they show movies on a big screen every Friday night for $2. The BEST part was the Tom & Jerry cartoons they showed every week before the movie. They were classic!
Happy TT!

So many of those were my favorites as a child. We found an mp3 of Yakko singing the country song. Classic!

Remember Might Mouse?!? Loved him. And i was totally into Thundercats with my oldest when he was two. Twenty years later, he’s buying up the DVDs of all the old Thundercat cartoons.

I loved the smurfs so much that in Jr. High we used their names as our whole secret note passing thing. I was Jokey and would always include a present blowing up at the end of the note. We did this so if the teacher found the letter, it’d be signed by a Smurf.
And yes, Wylie E. Coyote–loved him.
Great list!

I loved the Smurfs! I used to try and figure out why they seemed to be bigger in some scenes and smaller in others. I also loved Rocky and Bullwinkle. They cracked me up.

I remember schmoo! Marvin the Martian is my dh’s favourite character - he has a couple of ties with him on it.
My favourite cartoon from when I was little was probably Josie & the Pussycats and maybe the Jetsons.
Now I like Jimmy Neutron (which is odd because my kids don’t) and Sixteen.

My TT is about *gag* synopsis writing. Nothing nearly so nostalgic and fun.
