This was the uncle’s backyard. I love the house, a country-themed cape code style with wrap around porch and this incredible view. Back yard is riddled with rocks and leads to this gorgeous creek. But before you fall in love, be warned, there are snakes around…

They tell me it was a copperhead. I picked up a rock about four inches away from it, but it didn’t strike. In fact, it hid a little farther down in the clover.

I wasn’t kidding when I said it was flooded. This was an area we couldn’t visit, obviously. They didn’t bother with a road closed sign, considering the obvious.

I saw way too much of this. Farm land completely underwater. Roads, such as the one on the left, half way to the curve, that were obliterated by the floods.
(Please excuse the fact these were taken from a moving vehicle. I didn’t bother to crop because they’re not here for their photographic brilliance (snort) they’re to tell a story)

I’m pretty sure this was Mississippi waters, but…not where the Mississippi should be. The water stretched for miles on either side. I’m convinced a satellite shot of the area would leave me speechless.
